Burn Atlas
Burn Atlas began as Joe Ballent's solo project in 2014; he played every instrument on the EP and full-length 2015 album. Blending influences ranging from trip-hop (a la Sneaker Pimps and Massive Attack) to alt-rock (via Days Of The New and Stone Temple Pilots), Burn Atlas' sonic range has been praised by SLUG Magazine as 'an unfound treasure,' with Salt Lake City Weekly commenting on their 'fat, crunchy tone.' Ballent expanded the project to a power trio in 2015, with prog-metal bassist Matthew Lemieux adding tasty sonic energy and funk-soul drummer Leo Schlosnagle rounding out the rhythm section with danceable beats for a more rock 'n' roll sound that has vibrated stages at Sundance Film Festival and the X96 Showcase.
