Caleb Gray Band
The Caleb Gray Band is hot off tour with the country entertainer Charley Jenkins. This band is NOT a cookie cutter country band; they put their stamp of originality on every song which the customers love as they sing-along and dance the night away. This band is packed with talent and experience. They know how to make a venue rock. Each member has an extremely impressive biography. They have played with some of the iconic acts, both country and rock, of all time. They will soon be your new favorite band. Band members associated acts: Air Supply, Neal McCoy, Panic at the Disco, Charlie Pride, Jo Dee Messina, Charley Jenkins and many more. The band members include Caleb Gray lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Jonni Lightfoot bass, Scott Dixon lead guitar, and Van Christensen drums. Caleb Gray a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist that has been performing fifteen of his twenty-six years.. He started playing at age eleven at a local pizza restaurantåÊin Sopchoppy, Florida.åÊ His music has been influencedåÊby classic country artist like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, June Carter, and Hank Williams. While he lived in Florida he was a member of two bands that were popular in the Crawfordville and Tallahassee, Florida areas.
Caleb moved from Florida toåÊUtah in 2008 and was in the jazz band and Madrigal ChoiråÊat Bear River High School in Garland, Utah. Soon after graduation he meet Amanda Bowman and started singingåÊ country and historical music together as Southbound Routes. They recorded two instrumental CDs one music of the 1860s and the other classic gospelåÊsongs. Southbound Routes performed at many Mountain Man Rendezvous, Civil War reenactments and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints History Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. They also won Wasatch CountyåÊBattle of the Bands for Fair Days in 2012. Caleb is a cancer survivor and has performed at many Relay for Life events.åÊ
In 2012 he co-wroteåÊthe soundtrack for the movie "Blood Fare". He has played at the Wasatch County Fair, Box Elder County Fair, Days of 47 Rodeo and a private event for the rodeo. His energy and talent has made him a favorite with in the Wasatch Front music scene.åÊ
He became a member of the Charley Jenkins Band during Charley's 2017 Summer tour. After the tour ended the band has stayed together as The Caleb Gray Band. Jonni Lightfoot From the intimate settings of clubs to the roaring crowds of arenas, Jonni Lightfoot continues to push the boundaries of bass playing. He has released three solo records and has received numerous awards for his bass playing, including Most Innovative New Artist in 1996 for use of the piccolo bass. Jonni is an artist and clinician for Zon Guitars, GK Bass Amps and DigiTech/HardWire Effects pedals, and he wasåÊthe bass player and recording engineer for the ‰Û÷80s super-group Air Supply.
Jonni‰Ûªs CD, ‰ÛÏBlu,‰Û� features Grammy-nominated bass legend Michael Manring and multiple Grammy winner Graham Russell. Bass legends Michael Manring, Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Billy Sheehan, Jaco Pastorius and the late Wayman Tisdale continue to influence Jonni‰Ûªs playing.
Jonni joined Air Supply in 2001 and quickly became the bandleader and recording engineer. He has worked on nine of Air Supply‰Ûªs/Graham Russell‰Ûªs CDs, including Air Supply‰Ûªs newest release, ‰ÛÏMumbo Jumbo,‰Û� which includes the songs ‰ÛÏMumbo Jumbo‰Û� and ‰ÛÏAlternate Ending,‰Û� which Russell and Lightfoot co-wrote.
In 2005 Jonni played on Air Supply‰Ûªs ‰ÛÏIt Was 30 Years Ago Today‰Û� Live CD/DVD. The record went gold in Australia and has reached platinum status throughout other regions of the world. Jonni has recorded two other solo CDs‰ÛÓ‰Û�Copper Street Fair‰Û� and ‰ÛÏPendulum.‰Û� In 2008 he teamed up with Tony Harnell of TNT and joined the band Starbreaker. They recorded the very well-received record ‰ÛÏLove‰Ûªs Dying Wish‰Û� on Frontiers Records. Johnni left Air Supply in 2016 andåÊ joined The Charley Jenkins band. Now he plays for The Caleb Gray Band and D'Molls.
Jonni still focuses on his own recordings and continues to pursue his musical attributes‰ÛÓsoul, diversity, fun and lots of energy. He is currently recording his forthcoming CD, which will feature his piccolo bass playing as the centerpiece to what are sure to become classic songs. Van Christensen Drum Instructor/Show Director
Van Christensen has been playing the drums for over 30 years. His early influences were Buddy Rich, Neil Peart, John Bonham, and Terry Bozzio. At the age of 17, Van played his first professional musical and his first Bar gig. His high school jazz band took 2nd in State and he won "Outstanding Soloist" and "Outstanding Rhythm Section" awards. By 19, Van was playing in multiple bands and recording and giging regularly. In the years that followed, Van has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with many well-known acts including; The Smashing Pumpkins, The Strokes, Panic At The Disco, She Wants Revenge, and The Neon Trees. Van played drums for the Plan B Theatre Company's production of "Hedwig The Angry Inch" in 2002, 2005, and 2012. He has also been playing drums in the Salt Lake Acting Company's production, "Saturday's Voyeur", 2006-2011. Van has been on staff with The School of Rock since 2005. He teaches all styles of music including Rock, Jazz, and Latin with an emphasis on good technique and reading skills. Van is currently playing drums for the Suicycles, Danger Hailstorm, Hello Amsterdam, Wires, Black Satellite, and Totem Taboo and The Caleb Gray Band. Scott Dixon Scott Dixon has been called the guitarist to the Kings of Country. Scott is a formidable lead guitar player who has played everything from small Honky Tonks to huge arenas all over the world. Scott's experience even includes playing at the Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush.åÊScott is well known and respected by his peers in the music industry and is frequently asked to play with some of the most talented musicians and artists around. Not only is his playing stellar, but so is his "can-do" attitude. Artists rave about working with Scott because he's not only an awesome guitaråÊplayer, but also a great friend, on and off the road. He would jump in to help fill in on a moment'såÊnotice. In addition to his incredible stage presence, Scott's interaction with the fans and other band members when he takes the front of stage foråÊa solo commands youråÊattention!
