Angie Petty (solo)
Angie Petty comes from a very musical background but didn’t begin her performance career as a musician. As a dancer, she studied all forms of movement and competed in national dance competitions as a soloist and an ensemble performer winning multiple titles. It wasn’t until her senior year of highschool that she decided to go back to her musical roots. On a whim, she auditioned to be a vocalist at The School Of Rock in their “Soul Train” show, a program that her brothers were a part of. From that point on, Angie was hooked. Everyone who she came across was floored by her powerhouse vocals and ability to capture an audience. While studying at School Of Rock, Angie performed the works of Led Zeppelin, Queen, Yes and The Who to name a few, and was later selected to perform as one of the main stage acts at NAMM.
In 2013, Angie began singing professionally at Lagoon Amusement Park in a variety of shows. There, she made some very important connections and honed in on her performance abilities. Singing everything from pop, rock, musical theater to country, Angie expanded her versatility as a vocalist. It was during her 4 seasons at Lagoon that she decided to pursue a career in music and enroll at Snow College.
At Snow College, Angie earned a bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance. During her time at Snow College, Angie again widely increased her skills as a musician studying classical music, jazz, arranging, songwriting and producing. Studying under the direction of Philip Kuehn, Angie fell in love with jazz, making that her primary focus. Because of her flexibility as a vocalist, Angie has had opportunities to work with David Archuleta, Kurt Bestor, Melvin Jones, Jon Batiste and Cheryl Bentyne of Manhattan Transfer. She also represented Snow College winning first place in the pop division of NATS Nationals in 2017.
In 2020, Angie began releasing a string of singles and in 2021 released her debut album 'Timing.' She describes Timing as a 7 track body of work exploring patience, self love, deep emotional acceptance with dreamy romantic themes. The album was very well received and even landed her song “Love Letter” on two Spotify editorial playlists. Currently, Angie plays all over Utah with her band The Truth and is continuing to write music to expand her musical catalog.
