Kate Vogel
My name is Kate Vogel. I grew up in a traditional, hard working, midwest household. Working hard and achieving goals was valued. I grew up in Pittsburgh and came out west to play in the mountains, build a career and start a family. I moved to Utah 12 years ago and started that journey. I am now mom of 4 little girls. I work in the hospitals in Salt Lake City and I love to play music. In the past few years my life has taken some unexpected turns.
It's never too late and it's never too early to do the things you've always wanted to do. I have always enjoyed music but until recently I had only dreamed of playing and writing music. By sharing my music I have fallen into a supportive community of friends. These friends have allowed me to explore vulnerable places. They have helped me open my eyes beyond the black and white. Music taps into a part of me that longs for space and needs to be creative. In my busy life music helps me catch my breath and feel alive.
So I am a singer songwriter. I perform music that ranges from singers like John Denver, Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Eagles, and Brandi Carlile to the Rolling Stones, the Plane White T's, Johnny Cash and John Mayer. I like folk, Americana, rock, and singer songwriter music. I play covers as well as original music. I am constantly adding to the collection of music that I play, share and enjoy.
I am not really sure where this is all going. For now, I enjoy any opportunity to get out and play music. It makes me happy to sing and play and to see people enjoy the music that I make.
