Kila Mateah
Kila Mateah Alizabeth Tuckett (Davidson) I am from West Point, Utah. I grew up hunting, fishing, playing sports, and performing with my guitar to anyone who would listen. My deepest music roots come from singing The Dixie Chicks on my way to school each day with my mother, writing songs alongside my best friend and sister about all of the adventures we would take, taking voice lessons from my grandmother who from the time I can remember had the most beautiful voice. I found a love for songwriting, as it was my form of journaling through life. I would take inspiration from my oldest brother in both singing and playing. I grew up always wanting to be like him, and I give him all the credit for my love of music. I found joy creating songs about my life, from the windy plains of Idaho, to the hoof touched beaches of Hawaii. I love capturing the moments and putting them to song. My friend entered me into a contest in college, where I was able to take the money I received, and create my first Solo EP titled “Big Big World” in 2018. Two years later I ventured in to produce a single titled “Someday The Stars”. After a college degree, and sports scholarships keeping me busy all the while, I continued studying while working on a cattle ranch on the North Shore beaches of Oahu. There my inspiration continued. When it came time to leave, I wrote a song capturing all my love I had for the people and the experiences I was able to be a part of. This song was featured in a video created to allow others to come see and hopefully experience the same wonderful experiences. I married my best friend shortly after my departure from Hawaii, and we live a beautiful life in Utah. I continue to play and write songs daily, I find opportunities to share my music where I can. I hope to continue recording and sharing music. The joy I feel from sharing my words in a song, touching an individual who connects, is something hard to find elsewhere. It is my passion, and drive. To help people know that they aren’t alone in this crazy life, that we can feel happy, and sad, and still look up to find peace in even just the words of a song.
