Megan Blue
Megan’s huge, soulful voice has a sweetness and precision that you wouldn’t expect. After completing her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance, Megan moved to Austin, TX, where she cut her teeth in the music scene playing with various blues bands, and singing all over town. Megan spent years leading a band called The Blue Trees in New Orleans, LA, where she performed all original music, raised over $5,000 to create a professional album, and toured all over the Southern United States. She has performed at the world-renowned Jazz Fest in New Orleans, as well as Festival International in Lafayette, LA, and has had regular radio play on the famous radio station, WWOZ.
Since returning to Salt Lake in 2013, Megan has performed all over Salt Lake, playing at the Tram Club at Snowbird, The Garage, The Bayou, the Salt Lake Farmer’s Market, Oktoberfest at Snowbird, and The Thirsty Squirrel at Solitude. She often sings with Lake Effect, one of the most popular funk bands in SLC. With Lake Effect, she has performed at The Spur in Park City many times, as well as The State Room.
Currently, Megan’s latest project is an all original mix of Americana; a little bluesy, a little country, and a lot of soul; her band consists of some of the best artists in SLC, including Dylan Baker on guitar, Mark Chaney on drums, and Kevin Stout on bass.
