More than an award-winning artist, accomplished songwriter, and amazing pianist, Rich Wyman is a first-rate showman with a faithful following around the world. An unstoppable creative force, Wyman is the recipient of 10 ASCAP Awards and is also an acclaimed music producer and film composer. He has worked with top names in the music industry and is a passionate performer dedicated to creating original soulful music with direct lyrics.
Growing up in Allentown, PA, studying classical piano and violin from age 5, Wyman began songwriting at 8 and performing in clubs at 14. He graduated from The High School for Performing Arts in Ft. Lauderdale and moved to New York City at 18 studying composition and piano at New York University and The Manhattan School of Music. He began playing in bands immediately and working in recording studios. After 8 years in NYC Wyman moved to Park City, Utah while on a ski trip.
He wrote, produced, and released his first album, Just Might Make It.
Eddie Van Halen discovered Rich in Park City. The rock and roll hall of fame guitarist brought Wyman to his 5150 Studio in Los Angeles. Along with Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin and Rolling Stones engineer) they produced the foundation for Rich's second album Fatherless Child.
Fatherless Child broke radio in Ireland and Rich began touring Europe. He was offered a record deal in The Netherlands and he began work on his third album Where We Stand. Rich had two TOP 40 hits and played some of the biggest festivals in Europe. His concert tours have included The U.S, Ireland, England, The Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium.
His 4th album Live From The Heart was recorded live in studio in The Netherlands and at the Winter Olympic games in Salt Lake City Wyman opened for Alanis Morisette and The Goo Goo Dolls. Rich started his own record company and released his 5th album Factory while continuing to tour. His 6th album, a double DVD/CD entitled Embrace, containing performances in the studio and live on stage in The USA and Europe. Embrace won the "Silver Medal Award for Excellence in a Performance Film" at The Park City Film Music Festival. Wyman composed the soundtrack for the award-winning documentary Sister Wife which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. ASCAP gave mention to his powerful composition Guantanamo in Playback Magazine.
Rich's 7th album, Home - Solo Piano Improvisations was recorded at his home as he continued writing and performing. He won his 10th ASCAP Award and released his 8th album Songs I Wish I Wrote, his only album of covers. His ambitious 9th album, Good Company, eleven new original songs, recorded with 21 musicians from the U.S.A. and Europe, it took 3 years to complete.
In Las Vegas Rich played lead piano in a three piano show at The Venetian hotel and casino. He also performed at Harrahs, New York-New York, The Wynn, Golden Nugget, Red Rock, Monte Carlo, and more Las Vegas venues. He also played on Norwegian and Carnival cruise ships. He managed to find time to record his 10th album Live From The Heart II, live in The Netherlands. Rich has been playing dueling pianos for ten years across the USA.
Rich's current project PARK88 is a duo with Lisa Needham, his wife and background singer of 30 years. Together they co-wrote and recorded their new album The Fearlessness. The singles were released in the fall of 2018 when they toured the US and Canada with Grammy winners The Gipsy Kings. In 2019 they played high profile shows at the Sundance Film Festival and The Folk Alliance International Convention in Montreal. Their new single Slow Down was released in 2019. A deluxe edition of The Fearlessness with 12 tracks was also released in 2019 accompanied by a European tour in October.
2020 brings challenges to live music but Rich is working hard at home writing and recording music every single day!
