About Streetcorner Boogie
Streetcorner Boogie
Streetcorner Boogie Duet plays blues and roots music, with new arrangements of rock and country classics, and also some original songs. Streetcorner Boogie can play at volumes to accommodate conversation at restaurants, clubs, private parties, etc. We can also play at rocking volume. We play delta blues based songs like Crossroads, Walkin‰Ûª Blues, Dust My Broom, Death Don‰Ûªt Have No Mercy, John the Revelator, or Ramblin‰Ûª on My Mind. We adapt Chicago blues classics by artists like Muddy Waters and Little Walter. We make sure to perform songs familiar to a wider audience, like Born on the Bayou, Proud Mary, Folsom Prison, You Gotta Serve Somebody, Jumpin‰Ûª Jack Flash, She Caught the Katy, or Rockin‰Ûª Robin. Douglas Erekson (slide guitar, guitar, vocals) has performed in the intermountain states in the Art Hooker Band and later in the long-time local band Mr. Lucky, which he co-founded. Douglas teaches several instruments at Park City‰Ûªs Utah Conservatory, and mentors rock, gospel, and Praise bands. Howard Horwitz (harmonica, vocals) has played in Ed Hubble and Strictly Smokin, The Tony Holiday Band, the folk/pop/jazz combo The Gene Pool, and presently in the Smokin' Blues Band. Douglas and Howard have played Park City and Salt Lake City venues in The Daily Blues and recently in Slideharpo.
